Hello Rising Star Parents!

We are in need of Deck Parents to provide support during practice for our Rising Stars (6 & Unders). Deck Parents are critical to maintaining the safety of our least experienced swimmers.

What do Deck Parents do? 

• Provide on-deck supervision of the pool. Yes, you get to stay (mostly) DRY! 
• Create and maintain a safe pool environment by: 
  • Making sure swimmers are sitting behind the blocks as they await their turn in the pool 
  • Walking swimmers between the gate, pool, & bathrooms as necessary 
  • Making sure only authorized swimmers & parents are on deck
  • Correcting unsafe behaviors of any person present at practice

Requirements: 

• Cannot have any babies or other children behind the pool gate that are not part of the Rising Stars or Swim Helpers program.
• NO PHONE USAGE OF ANY KIND! Phones should be kept on hand only for emergencies. We need 100% of your attention on the pool!
• Must provide & pay for an NWAL Certified Background Check ($18). Background checks must be completed prior to being granted deck access.
• Commit to a regular schedule and communicate any changes with the Rising Star Coordinator. Having parents on deck is key to keeping our Rising Stars safe! Rising Stars practice from 5:00-5:30, Monday-Friday.

Deck Parents also get a BONUS perk: access to a practice is otherwise closed for on-deck viewing! It's a great way to see your swimmer progress through the Rising Stars!
