INVITATIONAL MEETS
There is one mid-season invitational, Sprint Sizzler. It is hosted by Swim Streamline at Northampton and Northampton Cudas.
There are 2 post season invitational meets, Ponderosa and Red, White, and Blue.
Unlike our dual meets, invitational meets require the swimmer to make a specific qualifying time in-order to attend. These meets also have an entry fee associated with each event the swimmer participates in.
Red, White, and Blue
During this 2 day meet, swimmers from the 90+ NWAL teams gather in one location to swim against each other. Swimmers must meet certain time requirements to qualify to swim the events here. There are two sets of times standards and swimmers will be placed to swim against other like timed swimmers. Relay teams do not require qualifying times. Meet requirements will be posted once they are available.
Parents must pay entry fees for these individual events, if your swimmer is selected for relays, the team covers the relay entry fees.
Ponderosa
During this two-day meet, the fastest swimmers from the 90+ NWAL teams gather in one location to swim against each other. Swimmers must meet qualifying times in their individual events to enter this meet. Parents pay a nominal entry fee for each event. Relay teams do not require qualifying times. Therefore, it is possible for a swimmer without a Ponderosa qualifying time to be selected to swim on a relay team. The Ponderosa relay teams are normally posted on the Sunday prior to the Ponderosa Invitational Meet. The team pays the entry fee for the relay teams.
